Senior Exit
Yesterday after school we went to the elementary school and got to run outside since it was a nice 70 degrees outside. The girls would run from one side to the other and would have to repeat positive things about themselves that we would tell the girls. For example "You are beautiful", and they would repeat back to us "I am beautiful". We talked about negative talk, like when others say bad things about themselves like "I am dumb", or "Im ugly". We said instead of saying negative things and most of the time trying to just get others to compliment you to make you feel better, you should say something positive like "I am pretty or I am smart." Positive talk leads to more confidence and a happier person.

Girls on the Run!!!
Last Tuesday March 8th, Thursday March 10, and Tuesday March 15, me and my group (Meg, Kate, and I) have been going to the elementry school after school every Tuesday and Thursday from 3:30-5:00. What we have been doing is doing different sessions everyday about becoming a better person and loving and respecting others and yourself. This program is to help girls become more comfortable in their own skin and reflect this positive attitude by exercising and running. Everyday we have had different streching activities and running games that help us prepare for the 5k run that we will all, the coaches and the girls, will participate at the end of the sessions.

CPR/ First Aid Training & Coach Training
On Sunday February 20th, me and my group went to Lakeland Hospital in St. Joe to take a CPR and First Aid training. When we got there we signed up and most of the time we watched an educational video of different situations and scenarios of what to do if you were put in this postion. They talked about people that have allergies, storkes, heart attacks, and about anything else medical related you can think off. And at the end we got to practice CPR on dummies and went through the different steps of CPR. I found it really interesting and i feel proud to be able to be a certified in CPR and First Aid and i actually know what i am to do if ever i need to help.
On Wednesday February 23rd, me and my group went to Brown School in St. Joe to take our Coach Training. We first got introduced to our program, Girls on the Run and we met our main supervisor Peggy Schaffer. We got to go through the different days of lessons we will have and got to learn the different cheers that the girls will be doing to encourage their other classmates, I found that really fun :)

Persians
In "Rubaiyat", its main focus is on life and love. It tells us that life is short and that we shouldnt take advantage but to live in the moment. It also tells us to be happy and spend time with the ones you love like in XII "A Jug of Wine, a Loaf of Bread- and Thou Beside me singing in the Wilderness- Oh, Wilderness were Paradise enow!" It also tells us that it doesnt matter what your social status is because when you die all that matters is how you lived life. In "Manners of Kings"it talked about the golden rule. To treat others the way you would want to be treated. If you treat others with kindness you will go far and be successful in life, while treating others disrespectfully will lead you to your downfall. In all it tells us to love others, live life to the fullest, and to treat others with kindness. The Persians lived spiritual lives and they believed that Allah would reward their good deeds. They were patient people and their values were very close to the Christian beliefs.
